Travel During Winter Break

To request a travel signature on your I-20 (F-1) or DS-2019 (J-1) you need to visit the International Center with the items below.  

If you are a student, be sure there are no academic or financial holds on your student record.

Common Questions During Winter Break (FAQ)

If you left the U.S. and do not have a valid travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019 to re-enter the U.S., please follow the steps below to get a travel signature before you return to the U.S.

  1. Complete a Student Visa document Request form, and specify that you need a new document for Travel.
  2. Complete a Travel Form
  3. Pay for eShipGlobal express mailing (directions below)

You must e-mail the  items above to Please include the Secure Express Mail code in your email so we can mail your signed visa document to you in a safe, secure way.

You will receive an email when your document is mailed  back to you.

How to Pay for Federal Express Mail Service - Use eShipGlobal

"eShipGlobal" is an online service that allows you to easily pay for FedEx with your credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover cards only). Do not request delivery through the FedEx website. All FedEx-related communication will be handled by the eshipGlobal service. To pay for FedEx delivery through eshipGlobal, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to their website
  2. Click on "Sign up" under the Students section.
  3. Register for an account by completing the online form. You will need your UCI Student ID number, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card information.
  4. If you experience difficulty, use the “Help” link in the eshipGlobal site for step-by-step instructions. UCI International Center is unable to resolve technical problems associated with the eshipGlobal service.
