Student Services
Meet an Advisor
- Schedule a Zoom Appointment by calling 949-824-7249 or email us at internationalcenter@uci.edu with the following details:
– Your first and last name
– Your phone number
– Your email address
– Your UCI ID number
– Your availability for the next 5 business days between the hours of 9am and 3pm
– Reasons you would like to meet with an advisor
- Late Policy for Student Appointments
- If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will need to email the International Center to reschedule.
- Live Chat: If you have a general question, or need more information, our office offers chat services once you visit our home page. Chat is available between 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm, Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and holidays.
- Attend Ask an Advisor (Drop-In Advising via Zoom): For general questions attend a drop-in advising session. You will enter Zoom Waiting Room and be entered on a first come, first serve basis. If additional advisement is needed, you may be asked to schedule a longer appointment for a future time. Registration for Tuesday or Friday is required.

Receiving Your Documents
F-1 Students: All I-20s will continue to be issued electronically via DocuSign – any new documents issued to you during this time period will be sent to your UCI email.
J-1 Students: All DS-2019s will continue to be issued electronically via DocuSign – any new documents issued to you during this time period will be sent to your UCI email.

Submitting Requests/Applications
- For address updates and travel requests, please email your forms to: internationalscholar@uci.edu.
- For J-1 DS-2019 and H-1B employment-based requests, your host UCI department must upload to the Scholar Upload Tool.
Receiving Your Documents
J-1 Scholars: DS-2019 document will be issued and sent electronically to J-1 scholar via DocuSign.
- New J-1 Scholars: DS-2019 document will be sent electronically to J-1 Scholar via DocuSign. J-1 Scholar will need to print a paper form of DS-2019 and sign with a pen. UCI Department will be notified by email once DS-2019 is available.
- J-1 Scholar Extensions: DS-2019 document will be sent electronically to J-1 Scholar via DocuSign. J-1 Scholar will need to print a paper form of DS-2019 and sign with a pen. UCI Department will be notified by email once DS-2019 is available.
UCI Academic Departments
DS-2019 documents or employment-based visa documents will be issued and sent electronically to J-1 Scholar via DocuSign. Scholar Advising staff will notify UCI Department by email once DS-2019 is available.
