What do I do if I didn’t get a travel signature and the office is now closed?
If you left the U.S. without a travel signature on your I-20/DS-2019 visa document, here are some options:
- Delay your return to give you time to receive a visa document with a travel signature
- You can request a new visa document with a travel signature and upload your request to the International Center website.
- This document will be sent to you via DocuSign to your UCI email account within 5 business days.
- If you are not able to delay your flight, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), may grant you a I-515A and allow temporary admission to the U.S. if you are able to demonstrate your status in the U.S.
I didn’t plan to travel, but have a need to travel. I don’t have a valid signature, what can I do?
If you have an emergency and need to travel. You may leave the U.S. without a valid signature. However, you will need to request a new visa document for travel before your return to the U.S.
I returned to the U.S. and received Form I-515A when I entered, what do I do now?
Contact the International Center to let us know you received an I-515A. You will need to request a signature on your visa document (I-20 or DS-2019) from the International Center.
After receiving the signed I-20/DS-2019 you will need to mail it by following the instructions received with the I-515A.
May I submit a request through the International Center upload tool during the break?
Yes, however, the request will be reviewed when the office re-opens after the break. Processing time will begin from the day we review the request (not the day it was submitted).
