Concurrent Enrollment

Immigration regulations allows you to take additional classes at another U.S. school, while maintaining valid visa status and enrollment at UCI. You must have approval from the International Center to enroll at another school while enrolled at UCI. You must speak to your academic counselor to ensure that your course work at another school will satisfy degree requirements at UCI.

Requirements

  • You must maintain full-time enrollment at UCI.
  • Do not enroll in more than two classes per quarter at another school during the academic year.
  • To enroll in a summer course at another institution, you must be enrolled full-time for the following Fall quarter.
    • If Summer is your final quarter, you must also be enrolled in Summer Session courses at UCI.
  • Your UCI enrollment will be reviewed by the UCI International Center before approval. If your total enrolled units exceed 20 units, you will be asked to provide approval from your academic counselor before enrolling in classes at another school.
  • If you are an F-1 student on Optional Practical Training (OPT), or J-1 student on Academic Training (AT) you are allowed to enroll in incidental classes at another school during your OPT/AT period.
